Peripheral Neuropathy Treatment

Occasionally, injured peripheral nerves can heal on their own, without employing peripheral neuropathy treatment. Unfortunately, there are other times when the injury is severe enough that the nerve damage can become permanent. Usually however, treatment interventions can help with either recovery or aid in symptom relief.

There are various options available, both conventional and alternative, in regards to treatment. Some of the more conventional treatments include various medications or medical procedures such as plasmapheresis, TENSandPENS, or surgery. In cases where peripheral neuropathy is caused by compression from a herniated disc for example, surgical intervention can often reverse the symptoms of peripheral neuropathy.

In addition to the above mentioned treatment options, there are also several complementary supplements available that may help improve the symptoms of peripheral neuropathy. These complementary supplements include things such as B complex vitamin supplements, and fish and primrose oils
